Soon after relocating to Hollywood, like most new arrivals, Richard became blonde, to shield his true identity. He also pretended to know only four chords on guitar which gained him much respect in the Punk Rock community. But what he lacked in Wisconsin, he found in Hollywood, a committed ally in rock singer Bonita Harlowe. Together they would redefine the nature of Rock 'n' Roll, and establish themselves as legends among the unknown.
With one record label mildly interested and others not far behind, they put together a band called Psitron (don't ask), and became a staple among the phone poles along the Sunset Strip. Performing relentlessly, they continued to hone their skills, while leaving a slew of drummers and bass players in their wake. But as fate would have it, they finally hit upon a scientific breakthrough late one night in a Hollywood rehearsal hall. They were experimenting with thermal dynamics when suddenly, a power surge was felt from San Pedro to Simi Valley and a new sound was born. It was what the tabloids would later refer to as "Rockafunkapunkabilly".
Headed for certain stardom, even the record companies were powerless from interfering with their inevitable success. Now that the band line-up was finally well in place with a solid rhythm section, a fifth member was added to embellish the live show with parts that were previously done in the studio requiring two guitars. The live show was now cranked and smokin', but little did Richard or Bonita suspect that this fifth member would eventually persuade the other two to leave Psitron and start a band of their own.
This is where the story takes a turn for the weird that no one could have anticipated. In the face of disappointment, a glimmer of hope was soon to be found. From on high, a long unanswered prayer kicked in, and the lives that Richard and Bonita once led would be changed forever.
